Chasing Spring opens with a bright and energetic ostinato, as the first theme represents the feelings of warmth and adventure I get with the arrival of each new spring. It is paired, however, with a darker and more ominous second theme representing a forming storm. The two themes intertwine as tension builds. As the rain subsides, optimism returns as the cycle of renewal continues.
